The film is based on the Mamangam festival celebrated during the 17th century, on the banks of the bharathapuzha. Sajeev pillai was the director in the first schedule but was replaced by M Padmakumar
'Mamangam' will likely to hit the screens on November 21. According to reports this film will release across 400+ theatres in multiple languages.Trailer and teaser has also gone viral in youtube
