The movie is a star packed one in which Makkal selvan Vijay Sethupathy is the main villan. Earlier it was said that Malayalam actor Antony Varghese will play one of the antagonist role along with Vijay Sethupathi. But recent confirmation from the makers shows that Arjun Das of Kaithi fame will replace Antony Varghese in Thalapathy 64
