A dance seqence in the movie in which Mammootty performing with female attire is one of the much appreciated sequence in the movie. Sajeev Pillai, who was the initial director of the movie claimed that the 'female dance' seqence was directed by him.
He also added that in spite of the court order for removing the name of Shankar Ramakrishnan from the title card of Mamangam they are still exhibiting his name in theatres. It is actually the violation of court order.
In between all these controversies Mamagam is running amazingly in theatres with housefull shows
